Meet Il Volo....

Hey y'all,
It's Friday!!!! I don't think I've ever been so glad in my life to see Friday! :) It's been one of those weeks... the kind where you're 3 steps behind on Monday morning and it only gets worse throughout the week? Yup. That was me this week. :) But three cheers for the weekend! First tailgate and home game of the season, sleeping in (yay!!!), catching up with people I love and haven't talked to in FOEVER... I'm pretty excited. :)
I'm also excited to introduce you to one of my favorite groups EVER. So... da da DA.... please meet
IL VOLO

Piero, Gialuca, and Ignazio are a trio of incredibly talented, not mention incredibly handsome, young Italians. They were each solo artists before they joined voices and formed Il Volo, which means The Flight, in Italian.

Their genera is pretty fluid... classical/opera/crossover/traditional Italian. Think Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Il Divo... but with a youthful twist. They're hilarious but classy, and they're so much fun to watch!

Ok, are you amazed??!! I hope so!! :)
Their debut CD is called Il Volo. (Shocking, right?) And it's goood. Their version of Smile is probably in my top 5 favorite songs of all time. It's beautiful. Simply beautiful.

I seriously love these dudes. And their music. :) So check them out!
Have the best ever weekend, y'all!! Smile lots, say hi to a random person, and tell your best friend you love them! :)

That last little piece of summer

Hey y'all,
I can't believe it's almost time for fall!! :)  Here in the sunny, sunny south, it still feels like the middle of summer but the calendar says fall is right around the corner. Kinda hard to argue with the calendar. :) So here's some almost-fall-but-still-kinda-summer wardrobe ideas. Take advantage of the gorgeous colors that are out this fall and mix and match textures.
Try it! Seriously, you'll have have so much fun!

I'm a HUGH fan of scarves. I wear them all the time. Really, I do. Don't be afraid to wear a brighter color even later into the fall. Scarves are a great option for adding a pop of color but not being overwhelming.

I die over long, flowy, feminine dresses like this! The jacket carries this otherwise very summery dress, right into the beginnings of fall. I think it would also be cute with a jean jacket. (But I think jean jackets can go with pretty much anything! :)

The trench coat is almost as near perfection as an article of clothing can be. It's classy, easy, and versatile. Perfect? Ha. Told ya. :)

Try adding a scarf and tights to your favorite outfit and see what happens. A lot of my clothes were more versatile than I thought till I did just that. A jacket here, a pair of boots with that, add a scarf, layer this with that... I was sooo excited about all the "new" outfits that were right there in my closet!

Even though I live in the deep South where the leaves don't turn gorgeous colors, and I'm still wearing tshirts and flip-flops in November, I'm super excited about other fallish things.
Like:
~ watching my school's football team (Geaux Wildcats!)
~ spiced apple cider (when I go home :)
~ wearing hoodies and boots (when it rains)
~ pumpkin pie!!! (with whipped cream :)

But for today, the sapphire sky and green grass tell me me to enjoy these last pieces of summer. :) So go on y'all, get outside and feel that summer sun! You'll be so glad you did. :)

Random bits of happiness

Hey y'all,
Just a few random things to add some huckleberry to your Wednesday! :)
It's so true... it's a wonderful life and wonderful things happen in it! :)
Pretty sure that in any season this would be perfect but it's especially perfect  because it's almost fall time! Boots, chunky sweaters, fabulous outerwear, yummy soup and spicy cider... ohhhh yeahhh!
I would so go there and get lost in some mossy corner with a good book.

Aaaannnddd... I just could not resist this little guy. Waaayyy too cute! :)
Hope y'all are lovin' life and enjoying the sun! :)
